Applications
Global Positioning System (GPS) – Working with coordinates provided by up to 12 satellites, this module is capable of showing the vehicles position with an accuracy of 1 to 10 meters of the absolute position. The coordinates also make it possible to calculate the vehicle's speed and direction. It is also possible to develop and implement real-time navigation and electronic fence applications based on the captured coordinates. These applications improve considerably the vehicle fleet's security and management.
Data Communications (GPRS/EDGE/CDMA) and Cellular (GSM/CDMA/TDMA) and/or Satellite Communications - This module allows the on-line and real-time transmission of the geo-location of each vehicle back to the fleet's security and management control center. It also allows the transmission of information related to the vehicle's operation and functional tasks, besides providing Internet access. This way, the security and management control center has the ability to communicate with the vehicle crew, supplying them with updated instructions and implementing security measures, such as the safety engine cut-off.
Telemetry – This module is responsible for capturing a wide variety of the vehicle's information through a network of sensors connected to it, such as: driver's ID, odometer, RPM, second gear, open door status, clutch, oil temperature, truck-bed, etc. This set of information is continuously transmitted, via serial interface, to the TopAuto and from it back to the vehicle fleet's security and management control center. In addition to actions directly and automatic taken by TopAuto on the basis of parameters pre-defined, the vehicle fleet's security and management control center has the ability to implement on the spot actions, as a direct result of the information continuously received from each vehicle. These actions are implemented via Internet. In addition to these important security and management benefits, the telemetry module offers a specific knowledge basis of each and all vehicles, which lead to the development and implementation of operational procedures capable of ensuring the achievement of the fleet's economical operation.
